Saturday was not the day we had planned.
Weather prevented a visit, time constrained possibilities, and yet Saturday was a great day.
It was a day where I travelled scrunched up in a seat on the Kampala – Jinja road and talked about life, faith and hope with Jodi and Janet. It was a day where children sang.
When we rolled up to the current Chayah home, unexpected but so expectant, the children who were home lined up and sang a welcome song. Such a sweet and skillful serenade.
A beautiful image of light despite circumstances, of hospitality despite being caught unprepared.
